Team Bath Racing Electric (TBRe) is the University of Bath's Formula Student electric racing team, bringing together ambitious students to design and compete with a formula-style race car. Competing against universities from around the world gives students practical engineering experience in a high-pressure environment.

Who Is TBRe?

Team Bath Racing Electric is a student-led motorsport team based within the University of Bath's Faculty of Engineering and Design. The team has earned a reputation as one of the UK's leading Formula Student Electric competitors, regularly competing at Silverstone and representing the University of Bath at international events across Europe. By designing and manufacturing many of their own components in-house, including their battery technology, Team Bath Racing Electric continually pushes the performance year-on-year.

The Car Type

Unlike many competitors, TBRe utilises a fully electric powertrain with an Emrax 228 motor rear-wheel drive and a custom in-house designed and built battery pack.


TBRe is widely recognized as a leading Formula Student team in the United Kingdom, particularly distinguished for its mastery of electric powertrains, a distinction consistently upheld since the 2017 competition.

Team Bath Racing Electric is made up of over 100 dedicated students from across the University of Bath, including Engineering, Computer Science, Management and more. Working together across a wide range of specialist disciplines, every member plays an important role in the design, manufacture, testing and operation of the team's electric race car.
