Why Certifications Matter In Load Measurement

Whether monitoring loads on a lifting system to prevent overloading, or collecting force data from a test rig to validate a design, engineers need complete confidence in the measurements they rely on.

Our certifications provide independent verification that our quality systems, calibration processes and working practices meet recognised industry standards. This helps ensure consistent performance, traceable results and dependable measurement solutions for every application.

ISO 17025

ISO/IEC 17025 is the internationally recognised standard for testing and calibration laboratories. It demonstrates that our laboratory operates to a very high standard, follows validated procedures and produces technically reliable results.

  • How many businesses in the UK are ISO 17025 accredited?

There are more than 1,500 UKAS accredited laboratories in the country. But at PCM, we are proud to be the UK's only in-house load cell manufacturer with ISO/IEC 17025 accredited calibration facilities.

  • Why is ISO/IEC 17025 important?

When measurements are used to make testing or safety-related decisions, the accuracy of data is essential. For some applications, accredited calibration is a mandatory requirement, while for others it provides added assurance that calibration results can be trusted.

  • Are calibration results traceable?

Yes. ISO/IEC 17025 requires measurement traceability to recognised national or international standards, meaning calibration results can be linked through an unbroken chain of comparisons back to established reference standards.

  • How does ISO/IEC 17025 benefit our customers?

ISO/IEC 17025 gives you confidence that the calibration results you receive are accurate and all uncertainties are known and controlled.

ISO 9001 helps organisations maintain consistent standards across their operations. By following established processes and regularly reviewing performance, businesses can improve efficiency and reduce the risk of errors.

  • Does ISO 9001 require regular assessments?

Yes. ISO 9001 certification is maintained through regular audits and assessments to verify that the quality management system continues to meet the requirements of the standard and is being effectively implemented.

  • How does ISO 9001 benefit our customers?

ISO 9001 helps ensure that products and services are delivered consistently and that customer requirements are clearly understood and managed throughout the process.
