The Car Type
Throughout its relatively short lifetime so far, Oxford University Racing has always been an EV entry. With a new battery and powertrain for FSUK 2026, OUR achieved their best result yet, placing 12th UK EV overall. This year, OUR aim to complete more testing than in previous years, validating simulations and providing a better understanding of the car dynamics and characteristics. OUR use a YASA motor inside a steel spaceframe.

Behind The Build
Oxford University Racing is the largest student-led engineering project at the University of Oxford. Each year, more than 100 students from multidisciplinary backgrounds come together to design, build, and race a single seater car from scratch. The project covers everything from chassis and thermal management to electronics and system integration. Students take ownership from first concept, through simulation, manufacture, and testing, all playing an important role in achieving higher category places at FSUK each year. Building components such as batteries, allows individuals to develop important skills required in industry, promoting innovativity, time management and resourcefulness.
