Our primary collaborations are with the Warwickshire College Group (WCG), and the WMG Academy for Young Engineers. We're proud to work alongside these organisations, because they are just as enthusiastic and committed to us, as we are to them. The partnership gives students an opportunity to work on real-world solutions that we serve to our customers every day. Without the support and flexibility of WCG and WMG, this would not be possible.

Warwickshire College Group (WCG) is a leading further and higher education provider with campuses across Warwickshire and Worcestershire. It offers a broad range of courses, where students can develop practical skills and explore a variety of career paths in supportive, modern learning environments.

By working closely with employers and local businesses, WCG helps students gain valuable experience beyond the classroom. This practical approach makes it a great place for young people to discover engineering and the opportunities available within the industry.

Designed specifically for students with an interest in STEM subjects, WMG Academy for Young Engineers offers a learning environment that reflects the world of modern engineering. Rather than separating academic study from practical experience, the academy brings the two together, giving students the opportunity to apply their knowledge through projects and industry engagement.

Located in the heart of Warwickshire's manufacturing region, WMG Academy has developed strong relationships with local employers like ourselves and higher education, helping students build an understanding of engineering long before they begin their careers.

How We've Supported Schools & Colleges

Work Experience

We regularly welcome students for work experience as part of their studies, where they can spend time within a real engineering business. As a trusted partner of local schools and colleges, we are often approached to provide placements that allow students to experience day-to-day engineering, learn about load measurement and gain an understanding of how different areas of the business work together. Because we handle the full manufacturing process, from machining and wiring, all the way to calibration, students get the chance to learn a huge range of skills and learn from many different individuals.

Facility Tours

Our facility tours are a great stepping stone for students who want to explore who we are before committing to a work placement. By spending time at our facilities, students can see how we work, meet the people behind each stage of the process and gain an understanding of how products are designed, manufactured and calibrated. Throughout the tour, they'll also hear from former WCG and WMG Academy students who have gone on to join PCM, providing a relatable insight into careers within the industry. At the end, we like to give students a quick one-to-one interview, asking the sort of questions that arise when applying for a job.

Apprenticeships & T Levels

For students ready to take the next step, apprenticeships and T Level industry placements are where they can turn their interest in engineering into real work. spending time alongside our engineers, students become involved in day-to-day projects, develop skills and gain an understanding of how a modern engineering business operates. Many of our apprentices have gone on to build long-term careers with us, making these programmes an important part of developing future talent.
