Tension Only Load Cells
Tension occurs when a tensile stress is applied to a material resulting in it stretching. This leads to an increase in length, nominally <0.5mm.
To be aware of:
- How the force is going to be applied to the load cell. This is how you maximise your accuracy in the system.
- Mis-aligned forces can damage certain designs of load cells.
- Be aware of how the force and re-acting force is to be applied to the load cell. Refer to the sketch: Pg 2 bottom right hand side of the PCM data sheets.
